Ruth Roman was born on June 22nd, 1939, in Lynn Massachusetts. Ruth Roman is the eldest child of Lithuanian Jewish parents Mary Pauline Gold & Abraham Roman. When she was a young girl, Roman's carnival-barker father died and made her mother Mary Pauline (Gold) to be an attendant or cleaner in order for them to survive. Ruth was raised in a tenement community that was poor in Boston, Massachusetts, where she went to school. Following only two school years the young woman left to pursue an acting profession. The path she chose wasn't without its challenges. When she was in New York, her first job involved posing stills for crime magazines. acting work she longed for was not available. After that, she was an hat-checker at the nightclub before calling it quits and returning to Boston. She worked as an usherette during the day and then performed at the New England Repertory Company by night, which was her first ever permanent acting job. She has also been accepted into Bishop-Lee Theatre School, where she specialized in drama.
